Virtual Front Desk Receptionist & Optometry Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for a warm, personable, and high‑energy virtual front‑desk receptionist to become the primary voice of our busy eye‑care clinic. You will handle a high volume of patient calls, schedule appointments, and verify vision‑plan benefits, ensuring a seamless experience for every patient.

Key responsibilities

• Manage 40‑60 inbound and outbound calls daily with a friendly, patient‑centered approach.
• Schedule eye exams, contact‑lens fittings, and follow‑up appointments, optimizing the provider’s calendar.
• Verify and log vision‑plan benefits (e.g., VSP, EyeMed) before appointments.
• Conduct outbound follow‑up calls, route urgent messages, and handle scheduling requests.
• Contact patients two days before visits to confirm, cancel, or reschedule, reducing no‑shows.
• Enter accurate data into the clinic’s EMR system while multitasking across tasks.

Required profile

• Experience in an optometry or ophthalmology practice is highly preferred; general medical front‑desk experience is acceptable.
• Flawless verbal and written English with an exceptionally warm phone presence.
• Ability to pull and verify basic medical or vision insurance benefits.
• Strong multitasking skills and comfort working with an EMR.
