Transport Planner – Public Transport (Manila)

About the role

Arup is seeking a Transport Planner to join its Manila team, collaborating with colleagues across Southeast and East Asia. The role involves coordinating concept planning, design, and assessment of transport infrastructure while supporting regional travel as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concept plans, assessments and designs for roads, bus and rail projects.
• Contribute to transport master plans, visioning, strategy development and policy evaluation at local, regional and national levels.
• Conduct public‑transport assessments, service and operating plans, and traffic impact analyses for new developments.
• Study emerging trends such as zero‑emission and digital transport, and manage related surveys.
• Liaise directly with clients, ensure quality control of deliverables, and support proposal development for developers and government agencies.
• Participate in regional bids and internal engagements to meet project deadlines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Transport Planning, Transport Engineering, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience in traffic and transport planning, public‑transport and multimodal planning, TOD, policy assessment, design and surveys.
• Proficiency in English and Tagalog and willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.

• GIS (basic to moderate)
• Transport modelling tools such as Cube, Vissim, EMME, Synchro
• Advanced Excel skills
• VBA and Python (advantage)
