Transport Executive

About the role

The Transport Executive is responsible for organizing and controlling transport operations to ensure timely, safe and quality delivery schedules. The role also oversees the upkeep, maintenance and availability of the fleet at the site.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily briefings and debriefings with drivers, helpers and tanker operators.
• Facilitate bi‑weekly Take 5 & Toolbox meetings.
• Observe driver behaviour on site, on the road and at customer locations twice a month.
• Participate in the monthly Site Safety Council meeting and conduct random compliance checks.
• Lead monthly performance reviews with third‑party haulers, documenting minutes and agreed actions.
• Submit daily fleet status reports for all vehicle types.
• Attend weekly team huddles, daily management meetings with Production and Customer Service, and incident reporting with regional SHEQ.
• Process delivery permits for PEZA zone sites and create shopping carts for third‑party haulers and suppliers.
• Perform purchase order invoice verification (PGR) and generate payment authorization forms (PAF) for non‑PO invoices.
• Monitor billing submissions and processing for haulers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical preferred).
• 3‑5 years of experience in dispatch, scheduling and delivery planning within logistics, compressed gas or engineering industries.
• Strong understanding of distribution concepts and logistics processes.
• Demonstrated engineering ability and knowledge of safety systems and company policies.
• Active driver’s license.
