Train Operator

About the role

The Train Operator will safely and efficiently operate MRT‑7 trains, ensuring punctual service and passenger safety while adhering to all operating procedures and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Operate assigned revenue trains according to the approved timetable, standard operating procedures, and safety regulations.
• Perform pre‑departure inspections and report any abnormalities or faults.
• Follow instructions from the Operations Control Center during mainline operations.
• Make passenger safety announcements, provide station information, and deliver service updates.
• Assist with turn‑back operations, test trains, inspection trains, and shunting activities.
• Execute intervention procedures during train failures and conduct train hauling when required.
• Support trainees and new operators through an on‑the‑job training buddy system.
• Assist the Train Operation Manager and other supervisors with operational tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical‑related field, preferably engineering.
• Valid non‑professional driver’s license (LTO‑issued) is preferred.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in transportation or rail operations.

Required skills

• Ability to conduct thorough pre‑departure inspections.
• Proficiency in following operational directives from a control center.
• Effective communication for passenger announcements and safety reminders.
