About the role
Maersk Filipinas Crewing Inc. is seeking a competent Third Engineer to join the engine department of its technically advanced container vessels. The role offers the opportunity to work on one of the world’s largest container shipping fleets, gaining hands‑on experience with modern machinery while contributing to safe and efficient vessel operations.
Key responsibilities
- Perform engine‑room watch‑keeping duties as required.
- Carry out routine work in the assigned area under the direction of the Chief Engineer or Second Engineer.
- Instruct and supervise the use of safety, environmental protection, firefighting and lifesaving equipment.
- Conduct briefings and debriefings to ensure effective teamwork.
- Plan and monitor work and rest hours, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Report any rest‑hour compliance issues to the Second Engineer or Chief Engineer.
Required profile
- Minimum 6 months sea‑time in the rank of Third Engineer on vessels equipped with a UMS system and a minimum 20,000 BHP engine.
- Willingness to be trained, challenged and to expand knowledge on advanced container vessels.
- Commitment to health and safety, diversity and inclusion.
