Teacher Aide – Classroom Support Role

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Teacher Aide to join Longreach State High School. In this role you will work closely with teachers to create engaging learning experiences and provide direct support to students, helping them achieve their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and enhance educational resources and materials for classroom activities.
• Assist teachers with literacy, numeracy, science, cooking, and practical lessons.
• Support individual students and small groups during learning sessions.
• Facilitate recreational and wellbeing activities such as reading support, storytelling, excursions, and sports.
• Provide personal care and mobility assistance for students with additional needs, following training and procedures.
• Monitor student progress, maintain records, and deliver first aid when qualified.
• Perform administrative tasks including class rolls, duplication of teaching materials, and documentation coordination.
• Manage and maintain school resources, equipment, and linens.
