Surface Grinding Operator

About the role

We are looking for a Surface Grinding Operator to run a surface grinder machine and produce high‑quality components. The role involves a variety of grinding operations and the fabrication of precision or semi‑precision tooling such as punches, dies, die‑sets and mould parts.

Key responsibilities

• Set‑up, operate and monitor a surface grinder machine to meet production specifications.
• Perform diverse grinding operations to achieve required tolerances and surface finishes.
• Fabricate precision tooling components, including punches, dies, die‑sets and mould parts.
• Inspect finished parts and ensure compliance with technical drawings and quality standards.
• Maintain machine cleanliness and perform routine preventive maintenance.

Required profile

• College graduate or undergraduate in Mechanical Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a technical/vocational course specializing in machining.
• Completed a minimum 6‑month apprenticeship or on‑the‑job training.
• At least 2 years of experience operating a surface grinder or in a related machining role.

Required skills

• Specialized knowledge of grinding operations.
• Proficiency in operating a surface grinder machine.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings (advantage).
• Experience in fabricating precision tooling components.
