Supply Chain Associate – Procurement

About the role

The Supply Chain Associate (Procurement) provides procurement support to missions worldwide, working under the overall supervision of the Head of the Manila Supply Chain Unit and the direct supervision of the National Supply Chain Officer – Team Leader. The role collaborates with the Supply Chain Division and the MSCU Procurement Support Team to ensure efficient acquisition of goods and services.

Key responsibilities

• Plan procurement actions for assigned, often complex, projects and prioritize purchasing requests.
• Assist requisitioners in preparing scopes of work and specifications for goods and services.
• Prepare and finalize Source Selection Plans for complex purchases.
• Post tender requirements on IOM and UNGM websites and produce tender documents such as Invitations to Bid, Requests for Proposals, and Requests for Quotations.
• Compile and present procurement data for monitoring and reporting purposes.
• Follow up with sections to expedite technical evaluations and submit screened proposals for review.
• Analyse abstracts of offers and determine the most cost‑effective vendor.
• Draft and issue purchase orders, supply and service contracts, lease agreements, and amendments.
• Manage post‑award financial activities, monitor contract performance, and resolve discrepancies between contracts and deliveries.
• Maintain internal databases, track contractual deadlines, and ensure timely renewal of contracts and purchase orders.
• Liaise with other procurement units to coordinate contract renewals and collect vendor performance reports.

• Coordinates with the Supply Chain Division and the MSCU Procurement Support Team.
