Strategic Sourcing Buyer

About the role

We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Buyer to join our team in Tanauan City, Philippines. The role supports the procurement of materials and services for aerospace and defense programs, working closely with tactical and design teams to ensure cost‑effective and reliable supply.

Key responsibilities

• Manage communication with tactical counterparts and feed supplier insights into commodity strategy.
• Execute commodity strategy and support galley enablement, including RFQ processing, cost data analysis, and pricing dispute resolution.
• Maintain price books, monitor cost variances, and analyze demand to set optimal order quantities and batch sizes.
• Review supplier performance, develop improvement plans, and ensure suppliers are rate‑ready for production.
• Identify and implement cost‑reduction opportunities, weight and cost optimisations, and quality improvements.
• Collaborate with the Tactical Procurement team to align supplier performance with contractual terms.
• Assess supply‑chain risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Support design activities, prepare business cases, and develop commodity profiles alongside the commodity manager.
• Adhere to EHS practices and proactively report hazards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing, supplier management, and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Proven experience in a global purchasing environment with a track record of achieving results.
• Strong background in materials management, MRP and ERP systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially data and cost management tools.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a clean disciplinary record.
• At least one year in the current position and not under a Performance Improvement Plan.
