Sr. Java Developer (Microservices)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer with strong expertise in microservices architecture to design, develop, and maintain high‑performance backend solutions. The role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams across multiple locations to deliver robust, scalable applications that meet business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and produce technical designs.
• Design, develop, and deploy Java‑based microservices using Spring Boot.
• Write and execute unit tests with JUnit and conduct code reviews.
• Maintain code quality, follow best practices, and stay current with industry trends.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise applications for performance and scalability.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and support teams to ensure high‑quality delivery.
• Provide regular status updates and participate in Scrum ceremonies.
• Resolve technical issues through research and investigation.
• Work with teams in multiple geographies and share knowledge within the team.

Required profile

• 6+ years of hands‑on Java development experience.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, UML, and application architecture.
• Experience designing and implementing microservices.
• Familiarity with continuous delivery concepts and basic DevOps (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficiency with relational databases such as MS SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Preferred knowledge of the retail domain.
• Experience with Go is a plus but not mandatory.
