Specialist Procurement Operations

About the role

BHP is looking for a Specialist Procurement Operations professional to lead low‑complexity sourcing projects and support commercial activities for regional teams delivering capital and operational projects. You will work within BHP’s Global Contract Management System (GCMS) and PCMS, ensuring data accuracy and delivering sustainable sourcing outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end low‑complexity sourcing projects, including tendering, negotiation and contract activation.
• Support regional commercial teams in delivering capital and operational projects.
• Perform activities in GCMS, SAP and PCMS, ensuring accurate data entry and issue identification.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders while adhering to BHP’s Charter values.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation and standardisation.
• Conduct market research, supplier evaluation and fact‑based negotiations to meet schedule, cost and quality targets.
• Apply industry trend intelligence to support evidence‑based decision making.
• Assess and mitigate risks using BHP’s risk management framework.

Required profile

• Experience in a procurement role, preferably within a large multinational or project environment.
• Undergraduate degree.
• Strong commercial and business acumen.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other digital productivity tools.
