Spanish Bilingual Medical Virtual Assistant

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Medical Virtual Assistant who can handle insurance eligibility verification, prior authorizations, and front‑office support for a fast‑paced U.S. medical practice. The ideal candidate is bilingual in Spanish, comfortable working remotely, and committed to maintaining HIPAA compliance while delivering excellent patient service over the phone.

Key responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits, reviewing deductibles, copays, and coinsurance before appointments.
• Submit and track prior authorizations through insurance portals and payer websites, updating providers and clinic staff promptly.
• Create and maintain patient charts, ensuring demographics and insurance information are accurate in the EHR/EMR system.
• Answer overflow inbound calls, assist patients with inquiries, route calls appropriately, and support front‑office insurance‑related tasks.
• Document all verification and authorization activities thoroughly while protecting patient confidentiality.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a U.S. healthcare setting.
• Hands‑on experience with insurance eligibility verification and prior‑authorization processing.
• Familiarity with commercial insurance plans, deductibles, copays, and coinsurance.
• Experience using insurance portals, payer websites, and EHR/EMR systems (EasyDerm a plus).
• Excellent English verbal and written communication with a professional phone presence.
