Software Engineer – Human Data Platforms (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms that process human‑generated datasets. This full‑time remote position works with a global leader in data infrastructure and analytics, offering the chance to solve complex technical challenges in a collaborative, distributed team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise data pipelines for large‑scale human‑generated data.
• Develop and maintain backend services supporting real‑time and batch processing.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting to maintain platform reliability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that improve scalability and performance.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go for backend development.
• Experience with distributed systems such as Kafka or Spark.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for data infrastructure.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
