Software Engineer (Human Data Platforms)

About the role

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms that process and analyze human‑generated datasets. This fully remote position offers the chance to work with a global leader in data infrastructure and analytics, solving complex technical challenges in a collaborative, distributed team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimise data pipelines that handle large‑scale human‑generated datasets.
• Develop and maintain backend services for real‑time and batch data processing.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to maintain platform reliability.
• Contribute to architectural decisions that enhance scalability, performance, and security.

Required profile

• Proficiency in Python, Java, or Go for backend development.
• Experience with distributed systems such as Kafka or Spark.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) for data infrastructure.
• Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases for storage and retrieval.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.
• Ability to design and optimise data pipelines for performance and scalability.
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail when debugging complex systems.
