Site Reliability Engineer

About the role

Avvoka is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to own the reliability, performance, and scalability of its legal‑drafting platform. Based in Manila, you will build automation, pipelines and tooling that enable rapid, stable releases for global legal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, provision and maintain Linux, virtualization and cloud infrastructure using infrastructure‑as‑code and image‑building tools.
• Develop and own CI/CD pipelines in GitLab to ensure fast, repeatable and safe deployments.
• Write automation scripts in Bash and an additional programming language to eliminate manual operational work.
• Operate and scale the platform across private KVM clouds, Azure and occasional AWS workloads, tuning networking, capacity and resilience.
• Manage virtualization and provisioning with KVM and Packer to deliver reproducible environments.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, and implement root‑cause fixes.
• Establish reliability practices, runbooks and standards for the growing Manila engineering team.
• Collaborate with developers and support teams to embed reliability and observability into the product.

Required profile

• Strong experience administering Ubuntu/Linux systems.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts.
• Hands‑on experience with virtualization (KVM) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Ability to work independently and provide on‑call coverage outside European business hours.
