Service Desk Technician - Contractor

About the role

The Service Desk Technician will support the installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of servers, desktops, laptops, and related network devices. You will prepare devices for deployment, configure user access, and assist with basic network and software troubleshooting while adhering to company policies and security standards.

Key responsibilities

• Image and test desktops and laptops before deployment.
• Configure Thin Client and VDI devices to connect with file and mail servers.
• Set up hardware, software, and email accounts for new hires and deactivate accounts for terminated staff.
• Maintain Active Directory objects and LAN service configurations.
• Troubleshoot hardware failures, peripheral replacements, and basic software corruption on Microsoft operating systems.
• Collect and report LAN capacity and performance data.
• Update standard departmental documentation and ensure compliance with security controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• No prior experience required, though previous IT support exposure is a plus.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and standard procedures.
• Strong internal relationship‑building skills.
