Senior US Tax Accountant – Remote (Full‑time Contractor)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing CPA firm on a full‑time independent contractor basis. The position is fully remote, but requires exclusive commitment and alignment with Pacific Time business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review U.S. tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S‑Corporations, C‑Corporations, and fiduciary trusts.
• Review staff‑prepared returns for accuracy, completeness, and tax‑saving opportunities.
• Research and apply federal and California tax regulations.
• Develop tax projections and support proactive planning strategies.
• Respond to IRS and state tax notices and communicate with clients.
• Manage workflow and deadlines using Lacerte and Canopy software.
• Identify process improvements and maintain high‑quality standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of U.S. public‑accounting tax experience.
• Strong technical expertise in federal and California tax matters.
• Proven ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
