Senior Tax Analyst – VAT Compliance & Reporting

About the role

The Senior Tax Analyst will join the newly formed Global Finance team within Vestas Global Shared Services Centre. The role focuses on VAT controlling, reporting and process improvement, working closely with regional finance, treasury and tax teams to ensure compliance and timely delivery of tax operations worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Review and approve general ledger reconciliations and VAT‑related accounts.
• Validate IFRS postings and revaluation of VAT balances.
• Analyse month‑end VAT balances, corrections, manual postings and provisions.
• Approve VAT controlling files and perform second‑level invoice analysis.
• Reconcile VAT refunds and payables, and approve related journal entries.
• Review and submit VAT returns, Intrastat, ECSL and other statutory reports.
• Handle VAT audit requests and coordinate with Global Tax for support.
• Perform impairment testing for VAT receivables and post provision entries.
• Prepare short‑term and long‑term VAT forecasts and cash‑flow projections.
• Act as first point of contact for Tax Analysts and Global/Regional Tax on compliance matters.
• Collaborate with AR, AP and ICO teams to resolve outstanding VAT issues.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation and standardisation of VAT procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of VAT regulations, IFRS and general ledger processes.
• Proven experience in tax compliance, reporting and month‑end closing.
• Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional stakeholders.
