Senior Tax Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Senior Tax Analyst to support IRS representation matters. This remote, behind‑the‑scenes position focuses on organizing client data, performing financial analysis, and preparing case documentation for an Enrolled Agent.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain organized digital client files, ensuring all required documents are collected and stored.
• Track case status, identify missing items, and keep a consistent file structure across cases.
• Review income, expenses, assets, and calculate estimated disposable income.
• Identify financial patterns, inconsistencies, and prepare concise financial summaries.
• Analyze IRS transcripts, flag unfiled returns or discrepancies, and draft case summaries.
• Assist in identifying IRS resolution options and gather information for final determinations.
• Prepare internal documentation to support case strategy and complete multiple years' tax returns, including bookkeeping when needed.
• Communicate clear internal notes, follow up on missing documentation, and support the team in next‑step identification.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field (preferred).
• At least 5 years of experience in tax, accounting, bookkeeping, financial analysis or related areas.
• Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in handling financial data.
• Ability to follow structured processes, SOPs, and case preparation procedures.
• Excellent written communication skills and ability to manage document‑heavy tasks efficiently.
• Proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues or missing information independently.
