Senior Tax Accountant (Remote Contractor)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our established US‑based tax and consulting firm on a full‑time remote contract. You will own complex client engagements, mentor junior staff, and collaborate directly with principals on tax planning and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare complex individual returns, including multi‑state, multi‑K‑1, high‑net‑worth, and Schedule C/E filings.
• Prepare entity returns such as 1120‑S, 1065, 1120, and 1041 (trusts and estates) and manage multi‑entity engagements end‑to‑end.
• Review work of junior staff, provide feedback, and mentor team members.
• Respond to IRS and state notices on behalf of clients and calculate quarterly estimated tax payments.
• Participate in mid‑year and year‑end tax planning conversations and maintain long‑term client relationships.
• Utilize TaxDome to manage workflow, client communication, and audit‑ready documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum five years of experience in US tax accounting within an accounting firm.
• CPA or EA certification with a strong accounting background.
• At least one year of experience handling global or multi‑entity tax matters.
