Senior Tax Accountant – 100% Remote (Direct Hire)

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Tax Accountant to work exclusively on Australian tax compliance projects. This full‑time independent contractor position offers 100% remote work while allowing you to own client files from start to finish. You will join a transparent, performance‑driven team that values accountability and professional growth.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review Australian tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and corporations in line with ATO requirements.
• Take full ownership of client files, managing workpapers, reconciliations, and final tax return preparation.
• Ensure workpapers are complete, accurate, and fully support positions taken in tax returns.
• Conduct thorough tax research and apply relevant legislation to compliance and advisory work.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of Australian tax regulations across all engagements.
• Analyze financial information and produce clear reports to support tax planning and advisory outcomes.
• Communicate effectively with internal team members to obtain information, clarify issues, and provide guidance.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior tax accountant handling end‑to‑end client engagements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Availability during AEST business hours for meetings and collaboration.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Australian tax legislation and ATO guidelines.
• Experience preparing tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and corporations.
• Ability to conduct tax research and apply complex tax rules.
