Senior System Architect

About the role

Coins, the leading crypto brand in the Philippines, is looking for a Senior System Architect to lead the redesign and evolution of its payment platforms. You will shape the technical roadmap for cross‑border payment services, ensuring scalability, security, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive review of existing payment system architecture, identifying defects, bottlenecks, security risks, and scalability issues.
• Design medium‑ and long‑term technical architecture for cross‑border payments, covering system layering, service decomposition, middleware governance, and multi‑region compliance.
• Collaborate closely with product teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions and improve delivery efficiency.
• Lead the creation of an efficient R&D ecosystem, including technical specifications, toolchain optimization, automated testing, deployment pipelines, and microservice governance.
• Define high‑availability, high‑concurrency, data‑consistency, and security‑compliant designs, and establish disaster‑recovery and emergency response plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Security or related field, with 5+ years of system architecture experience in financial payments.
• Proven experience in payment companies, fintech, or bank payment departments, with deep knowledge of end‑to‑end payment flows and cross‑border clearing channels (e.g., SWIFT, CIPS).
• Strong expertise in distributed system design, microservices, distributed transactions, high‑concurrency processing, caching strategies, and message‑queue architectures.
• Solid understanding of payment‑related regulations and standards such as PCI DSS, AML, KYC, and relevant local compliance requirements.
