Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) – Java

About the role

As a member of the DevOps and QA team, you will drive automation and shift‑left quality assurance for the Avaloq Banking Suite. You will work with modern technology stacks such as Java, Kubernetes, OpenShift and Gradle, collaborating closely with developers, test managers and release managers to deliver high‑quality solutions for global financial institutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop high‑quality Java code and maintain robust automation frameworks and tools.
• Debug complex software issues and optimise performance through refactoring.
• Collaborate with product owners to understand and prioritise requirements.
• Own specific components of the automation frameworks, ensuring they meet team standards.
• Work closely with development teams on microservices and applications.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in an agile environment.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of hands‑on Java development experience.
• Experience with Java EE, Spring, OSGi and Angular.
• Proficiency with REST APIs and message‑based systems (XML, JSON).
• Highly motivated, collaborative team player with strong analytical skills.
• Effective communication with stakeholders and cross‑functional teams.
