Senior Reporting Lead

About the role

The Senior Reporting Lead manages a team of Reporting Analysts who design, build, enhance and sustain business and management reports. The role combines hands-on expertise in Power BI, Power Query and Power Apps with people leadership, delivery governance and stakeholder partnership. It is expected to be flexible, decisive and quick to pivot while protecting report quality, controls, usability and agreed timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of dashboards, recurring reports, scorecards and ad-hoc analytical solutions, reviewing report logic, calculations, filters, drill-through paths and presentation before release.
• Guide the development of reliable semantic models, measures and business definitions, and promote reusable datasets and common definitions.
• Provide advanced oversight of Power BI Desktop and Service, including DAX, data modeling, row-level security, workspace organization, publishing and refresh monitoring.
• Use and guide the team in Power Query for data extraction, cleansing, transformation and consolidation, and in Power Apps for capturing, validating and maintaining reporting data.
• Lead discovery sessions with stakeholders, turn changing requests into prioritized requirements, manage scope changes and allocate work across BAU reporting, enhancements, defects and projects.
• Set up quality checks such as source-to-report reconciliation, establish documentation standards and maintain segregation of duties with data owners, risk, compliance and technology teams.
• Assess reports for duplication, usage and relevance, recommend consolidation or retirement, and drive standardization of templates, naming conventions and KPI definitions.
• Lead, coach and develop a team of Reporting Analysts, provide technical coaching and reviews, and manage resource capacity and capability gaps.
• Build trusted relationships with Finance leaders, process owners, data owners and technology partners, and help stakeholders interpret data and act on insights.
