Senior Media Relations Specialist

About the role

The Senior Media Relations Specialist will support the Public Relations AVP in enhancing AboitizPower’s corporate reputation among middle‑management media, industry associations, and key stakeholders. This role focuses on building strong relationships with print and broadcast journalists, as well as influencers interested in energy, sustainability, technology, and business.

Key responsibilities

• Establish, grow and maintain relationships with selected media personalities and industry influencers.
• Manage Corporate Affairs agencies responsible for PR, media buying, and research.
• Plan and execute end‑to‑end events and activities to deepen media stakeholder engagement.
• Write, edit, seed, track, monitor and measure media stories.
• Develop and implement media relations programs and crisis communication plans.

Required profile

• At least 6 years of experience in media relations or corporate communications.
• 3‑5 years of experience in team leadership or people management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Business Management, Communication, Economics or a related field.
• ICOR certification is a plus.
