Senior Linux/Unix Engineer – Remote US Support

About the role

We are seeking a senior Unix/Linux Engineer to provide remote technical support to US‑based clients, working from Indonesia or the Philippines. The role focuses on automation, server administration, and ensuring high availability across on‑premises and Azure environments.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows using Ansible, Terraform, and Puppet.
• Install, upgrade, and migrate servers on Linux, Unix, and AIX platforms with emphasis on security and performance.
• Manage enterprise DNS environments (Infoblox and BIND) and integrate automation with CI/CD pipelines.
• Support virtualized server nodes in VMware, Hyper‑V, Microsoft Azure, OpenStack, and Citrix Xen.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting for Linux servers and networking issues.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of automation processes and system architecture.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of Unix/Linux server administration experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (master’s preferred).
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Required skills

• RHEL 6/7/8/9, Suse, CentOS, Ubuntu, AIX, HPUX.
• Ansible, Terraform, Puppet (playbooks, roles, modules).
• DNS administration – BIND and Infoblox.
• Virtualization platforms – VMware, Hyper‑V, Azure, OpenStack, Citrix Xen.
• Networking fundamentals – TCP/IP, NIC bonding, packet analysis (Wireshark/Tcpdump).
• Scripting – Bash/Ksh/Sh, Python, sed, awk.
• ServiceNow familiarity (preferred).
