Senior Director, Infectious Disease

About the role

The Senior Director, Infectious Disease will lead the anti‑infective therapeutic portfolio for a major pharmaceutical company. This role focuses initially on anti‑fungal and antibiotic programs with future involvement in HIV studies.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary therapeutic area expert for Global Clinical Development and cross‑functional teams such as Marketing, Business Development, and Licensing.
• Design, develop, implement, and oversee Phase II/III clinical trials, ensuring safety monitoring and protocol compliance.
• Interpret and synthesize study results, preparing key messages for study reports and regulatory submissions.
• Contribute to NDA, IND, and safety report documentation aligned with global and regional product strategies.
• Drive growth of the infectious diseases franchise and establish a leadership position for the company in this therapeutic area.

Required profile

• MD with training in Internal Medicine and/or Infectious Disease, board certified.
• Minimum 3 years of industry experience in anti‑infective drug development, preferably in Phase II/III.
• Experience with IND and NDA filings and global drug development processes is highly desirable.
