Senior Accountant – QuickBooks Online (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accountant with deep QuickBooks Online (QBO) expertise to join our remote team. You will lead QBO onboarding, clean‑up complex books, and support month‑end close for Canadian and real‑estate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead QBO onboarding: set up, configure chart of accounts, import and map data.
• Clean up and restructure books, including historical fixes and catch‑up projects.
• Handle complex reconciliations such as investments, inter‑company, multi‑entity, and HST/GST.
• Support month‑end close, ensuring files are accurate and client‑ready.
• Review financial statements for reasonability and flag issues proactively.
• Identify process gaps and recommend improvements.
• Assist with basic client communications once familiar with accounts.
• Provide part‑time administrative/VA support: invoicing assistance, data entry, and internal process organization.

Required profile

• Strong experience with QuickBooks Online (required).
• Experience working with Canadian companies (strongly preferred).
• Background in real‑estate or rental‑property accounting (preferred).
• Comfortable handling clean‑up projects and complex files.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with the team.
• Tech‑savvy with tools like Dext, Excel, and cloud‑based workflows.
• Friendly, personable, team‑player attitude, open to improvements.
• Home‑based setup with minimum 20 Mbps internet and a laptop/PC (i5, 8 GB RAM).
• Availability Monday‑Friday, 7 am‑4 pm EST (night‑shift).
