Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager

About the role

The Security Operations Center (SOC) Manager leads the daily activities of the SOC analyst team, ensuring that monitoring, analysis, and escalation processes meet organizational service level agreements and security objectives. This role serves as the primary liaison with executive management and coordinates incident response across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee SOC analysts, processes, and technology to achieve security monitoring goals.
• Develop and maintain shift schedules to guarantee 24x7 coverage.
• Communicate security status and incidents to executive leadership as needed.
• Design, implement, and track security KPIs, metrics, and critical success factors.
• Coordinate incident response activities and act as the principal liaison for escalation.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of security leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL methodologies and frameworks.
• Proven ability to create career development plans for team members.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills under pressure.
• Effective oral and written communication with senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced scripting: PowerShell, bash/ksh/sh, Cisco IOS.sh, JunOS sh/csh, Perl, Tcl, Lua.
• SIEM platforms: Azure Sentinel, Splunk, LogRhythm.
• Network security tools: Metasploit, vulnerability scanners, Kali Linux, Nmap.
• IDS/IPS and firewalls: Snort, Cisco, Fortigate, Sourcefire.
• Operating systems: Windows, Unix/Linux.
• LAN/WAN technologies, networking protocols, and security implications.
• Incident response and packet analysis tools.
