Safety Officer 2 – Electrical Engineer

About the role

The Safety Officer 2 (Electrical Engineer) will lead safety, health, and environmental compliance for Meralco’s operations. This role focuses on proactive risk mitigation, ensuring a safe workplace for all employees and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular spot field inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and verify compliance with regulations and company policies.
• Observe work methods, document unsafe conditions, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare Initial and Final Incident Investigation Reports for medical treatment cases or lost‑time incidents, including safety alerts.
• Oversee safety protocols and risk assessments for company events, ensuring all activities meet health and safety standards.
• Compile and submit accurate reports to satisfy labor and safety law requirements.
• Adhere to all existing company codes, policies, agreements, rules, and regulations.

Required profile

• Registered Electrical Engineer.
• Qualified for Safety Officer 2 position.
• Preferably at least 2 years of experience in behavior‑based safety (BBS), safety leadership, or safety culture programs.
• Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Standards.
• Completed BOSH/COSH (Basic Occupational Safety & Health / Construction Occupational Safety & Health) training.
• Willingness to work onsite in Ortigas, Pasig and perform field work.
• Valid driver’s license for a 4‑wheel manual transmission.
