Risk Model Officer

About the role

The Risk Model Officer will lead the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of credit risk models and the broader model risk management framework. This role ensures that models are accurate, compliant with regulatory standards, and aligned with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Create, maintain, and update the model risk management framework.
• Develop, implement, test, and monitor credit risk models such as application and behavioral scoring.
• Design and support additional models required to meet evolving business needs.
• Maintain a comprehensive model inventory, classification, and materiality assessments.
• Test, monitor, and validate third‑party risk models outsourced by the organization.
• Ensure model risk practices comply with global and local regulatory requirements (e.g., SEC, BSP).
• Assist in maintaining internal risk data and producing ad‑hoc reports for the risk management department.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to foster strong relationships and clear communication.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Banking & Finance, or a related business discipline.
• Relevant experience in model risk, credit review, audit, or banking and finance.
• Proven ability to produce accurate, validated model scores for risk assessment.
• Familiarity with global and local credit risk reporting requirements.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using analytics software such as SAS or R‑Studio.
• Knowledge of market data providers like Reuters or Bloomberg.
