Revenue Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an analytical and detail‑driven Revenue Accountant to manage the financial activities that directly offset gross sales. You will be responsible for accurate accounting, tracking, and reporting of sales deductions and for reconciling e‑commerce revenue across multiple marketplace platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Process, validate, and record contra‑revenue transactions such as rebates, trade promotions, volume discounts, slotting fees, and product returns.
• Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, and Accounts Receivable to verify deduction claims and resolve disputes.
• Perform weekly reconciliations of e‑commerce product returns and investigate material variances.
• Reconcile daily and monthly sales, refunds, discounts, and chargebacks between storefronts (e.g., Shopify, Amazon) and payment processors.
• Manage settlements from third‑party marketplaces, ensuring accurate platform‑fee and advertising deductions.
• Ensure revenue recognition complies with U.S. GAAP and post required journal entries during month‑end close.
• Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline data flow from sales platforms to the ERP system.
• Execute month‑end close tasks for U.S., Canadian, and multiple European entities, including refund reconciliations and revenue recognition.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of revenue accounting experience with month‑end close responsibilities.
• At least 1 year of e‑commerce accounting experience.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑changing environment.
• High attention to detail and a sense of urgency.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
