Restaurant Cook

About the role

The Restaurant Cook works under the direction of the Restaurant Manager to prepare and present meals for guests at Cafe Central. This is a morning‑shift position focused on delivering high‑quality food and excellent service during the busy breakfast period.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare menu items according to recipes, ensuring proper cooking techniques and presentation.
• Serve customers, operate the cash register, and handle transactions when required.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, service stations, and dining area before, during, and after service.
• Assist with set‑up and breakdown of special events, parties, and catering orders.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the manager.

Required profile

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations (percentages and fractions).
• Interpersonal skills for direct interaction with customers.
• Valid County Food Handler’s Permit.

Required skills

• Food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Food Handler’s Permit certification.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $19.02 (2026‑2027 Support Salary Table).
• Shift: 7 am – 11 am, 4 hours per day, 225 days per year.
• Opportunities for promotion with a minimum 5 % salary increase.
