Remote System Administrator – Cloud Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to join a leading technology client on a contract basis. The position is fully remote and focuses on managing, optimizing, and securing cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability for mission‑critical services.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and administer cloud‑based servers, networks, and storage across AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive fixes to minimize downtime.
• Enforce security best practices, including access controls, vulnerability assessments, firewalls and encryption.
• Automate routine operations using Bash, Python or PowerShell scripts and configuration‑management tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deploy updates, resolve technical challenges and improve system reliability.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Strong background in Linux/Unix system administration and command‑line operations.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP and VPN.
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex system and application issues.
