Remote Real Estate Accountant – AppFolio & QuickBooks

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Real Estate Accountant to manage financial records for property portfolios using AppFolio and QuickBooks Online. This fully remote position works night‑shift hours aligned with EST and offers weekly pay.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations for real‑estate properties in AppFolio and QuickBooks.
• Record and reconcile rent collections, lease deposits, and other property‑related income.
• Process accounts payable, including vendor invoices, utilities, maintenance, and other expenses.
• Prepare and monitor accounts receivable, ensuring accurate tenant billing and timely collections.
• Perform monthly bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Generate and analyse financial reports such as cash flow statements, income statements, and balance sheets.
• Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis for property portfolios.
• Maintain compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Support property managers and leadership with financial insights and coordinate with external auditors and tax professionals.

Required profile

• Proven experience in real‑estate accounting, preferably within a property‑management environment.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general‑ledger processes.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with property managers, tenants, and vendors.
