Purchasing Staff

About the role

The Purchasing Staff member will support the procurement function by managing purchase variances, assisting in cost‑reduction initiatives, and maintaining strong supplier relationships, particularly within the shipping industry.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse purchase variances to ensure budget compliance.
• Participate in cost‑reduction programs and suggest improvement opportunities.
• Develop and maintain a network of reliable suppliers, focusing on the shipping sector.
• Prepare and review purchase orders and related documentation.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align procurement activities with operational needs.

Required profile

• Graduate of Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a 4‑year Business/Engineering program.
• At least 1 year of work experience, preferably in purchasing or a related supply‑chain role.
• Familiarity with purchase variance analysis and cost‑reduction processes.
• Strong analytical and planning abilities.
