Project Controller – Cost Management

About the role

AECOM is seeking a Project Controller to support cost management across its infrastructure projects. The role works closely with financial and project teams to monitor, analyze, and report on project financial performance, ensuring alignment with budgets and schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain work breakdown structures (WBS) for assigned projects and assist in establishing baseline data from drawings and specifications.
• Collect and analyse progress, manpower, labor hour, and cost data, comparing actuals to budgeted figures.
• Support earned‑value analysis, scope control, and change‑management processes.
• Assist in trending, forecasting, and preparing cost‑related reports for project meetings.
• Track purchase orders, subcontract commitments, and expenditures.
• Participate in project cost review meetings and contribute to performance‑management discussions.

Required profile

• Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial terminology.
• Ability to recognise project actions that may impact financial outcomes.
• Experience or familiarity with cost and schedule variance analysis.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Knowledge of earned‑value management concepts.
• Familiarity with scope control and change‑management methodologies.
• Understanding of project revenue and cost principles.
