Project-based Mainframe Programmer

About the role

This is a 12‑month project‑based position focused on migrating and converting legacy mainframe applications to a new Z/OS environment. You will work on code customization and ensure system integrity through thorough testing.

Key responsibilities

• Migrate legacy programs written in COBOL, JCL and Easytrieve to Z/OS.
• Customize and enhance code to meet new platform requirements.
• Conduct unit, integration and UAT batch testing to validate functionality.
• Collaborate with business analysts and QA teams to resolve issues.
• Document migration procedures and maintain technical records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, Sciences or related field.
• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience in mainframe programming.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MVS COBOL, CICS, JCL and Assembler.
• Familiarity with Easytrieve and Z/OS environment.
• Experience with batch processing and testing methodologies.
