Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will manage the sourcing and purchasing of goods essential for business operations, both domestically and for import. This role involves researching suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality merchandise.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the end-to-end procurement process for local and import purchases.
• Research potential vendors, evaluate offers, and negotiate contract terms and pricing.
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to guarantee product quality and on-time delivery.
• Handle import clearances, coordinate shipping schedules, and manage documentary requirements.
• Enter accurate order details into internal databases and keep records of purchases, deliveries, and invoices.
• Prepare and certify purchase reports, cost analyses, and stock level monitoring.
• Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure proper storage of purchased items.
• Develop and execute purchasing plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in local and import purchasing, preferably in the food or logistics sector.
• Strong knowledge of estimating, planning, inventory management, budgeting, and best purchasing practices.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and proficient written and oral English communication.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Experience using Google Docs and Google Sheets.
• Familiarity with ERP systems.
