Procurement & Inventory Officer

About the role

The Procurement & Inventory Officer will manage the flow of materials, supplies, fuel, tools, and equipment across all construction projects. This role ensures accurate, online tracking of consumption so the company can determine true project costs and price future work correctly.

Key responsibilities

• Order materials and supplies from hardware stores and trade partners based on approved requests, compare prices and recommend best value.
• Coordinate with Finance to place and pay for orders online, following the company’s purchasing schedule.
• Receive deliveries, verify quantity and quality, log items into the online inventory and flag any shortages or damages.
• Track every withdrawal and usage on‑site, recording who took items, how much, when, and for which project.
• Maintain the online inventory and equipment register, running stock balances, tool custody, and fuel/equipment logs without pen‑and‑paper.
• Reconcile issued materials versus actual usage, report consumption rates, variances and possible losses.
• Provide daily reports to the General Manager, weekly updates at L10 meetings, and monthly consumption‑versus‑cost reports.

Required profile

• Comfortable using a smartphone and simple online forms or spreadsheets daily.
• Honest, organized and dependable with materials, fuel and money trails.
• Knowledge of construction materials and site basics such as cement, rebar, aggregates, fuel and tools.
• Ability to canvass suppliers, compare prices and keep clear records.
• Prior experience in storekeeping, warehouse, purchasing or inventory management is a plus.
• Familiarity with apps like ClickUp, Google Sheets or Google Forms is advantageous.
• Valid driver’s license or willingness to canvass and coordinate deliveries.
