Platform Engineering Head

About the role

The Platform Engineering Head will define and execute the bank’s end‑to‑end platform strategy, driving the design, development, deployment and governance of core technology platforms. This senior leader will champion the enterprise DevOps framework, accelerate time‑to‑market, improve software quality and boost operational efficiency across all IT functions.

Key responsibilities

• Create and implement a visionary platform engineering strategy aligned with digital transformation goals.
• Develop and maintain a robust Platform‑as‑a‑Service (PaaS) offering for rapid, safe software deployment.
• Lead the enterprise DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) initiatives to enhance agility and reliability.
• Oversee architecture and governance of cloud infrastructure, container orchestration, CI/CD pipelines and observability tools.
• Define and enforce platform and DevOps policies, ensuring compliance with internal security, risk and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with development, operations and QA teams to automate CI/CD, testing and monitoring processes.
• Drive adoption of modern cloud, containerization and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Manage, mentor and grow a high‑performing team of Platform Engineers, DevOps Architects and SREs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing Platform Engineering, DevOps or SRE teams.
• Proven ability to shape platform strategy, lead large‑scale digital initiatives and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Strong understanding of banking security, risk and regulatory frameworks.

Required skills

• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Containerization & orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift.
• Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices.
