Patient Eligibility Registration Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Patient Eligibility Registration Specialist to support the patient registration process. The role involves verifying insurance coverage, securing authorizations, and maintaining accurate documentation to ensure timely patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Gain and maintain a thorough understanding of patient insurance eligibility and benefits across a wide range of payers, including Aetna, Cigna, BCBS, Humana, Workers’ Comp, Medicare, and Medicaid.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits by contacting insurance companies and reviewing online payer portals.
• Confirm deductibles, copays, coinsurance amounts, and out‑of‑pocket maximums.
• Generate and communicate “Estimate of Patient Financial Responsibility” forms to patients promptly.
• Secure necessary approvals from insurance carriers before procedures or treatments.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies, coverage issues, and insurance‑related errors by coordinating with insurers and internal teams.
• Maintain organized, accurate records of verification activities, communications, and documentation while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of healthcare industry experience in intake/verification roles.
• Experience in Orthopedic, Spine Surgery, or Pain Management specialties is a plus.
• Understanding of various insurance coverages, including Health, Workers' Comp, and Auto.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
