Occupational Safety & Health Technician

About the role

The Occupational Safety & Health Technician will ensure that construction projects comply with Spanish occupational safety legislation and international management standards. Working on‑site in Zaragoza/Huesca, you will support the general contractor in implementing and monitoring the Construction Safety Management Plan (CSMP).

Key responsibilities

• Assess the safety and health management performance of contractors and verify CSMP implementation.
• Secure a leadership commitment statement or project health‑and‑safety policy within the CSMP.
• Conduct regular site walks and inspections to guarantee regulatory compliance.
• Promote a strong preventive safety culture aligned with Spanish laws such as Ley 31/1995, Real Decretos 39/1997 and 1627/1997, and Ley 38/1999.
• Perform risk assessments, incident analyses and audits of CSMP and related safety systems.

Required profile

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Health & Safety Management, or a related technical field, or at least three years of experience in health‑and‑safety management.
• In‑depth knowledge of Spanish occupational safety regulations.
• Fluent in Spanish and proficient in English.

Required skills

• ISO 45001 implementation and auditing.
• OHSAS 18001 knowledge.
• Risk assessment and incident analysis.
• CSMP auditing.
• Understanding of Spanish construction safety legislation.
