Multi‑Skilled Facility Technician (Operations)

About the role

The Multi‑Skilled Technician (Operations) provides hands‑on technical support for daily facility operations, responding to real‑time service requests, addressing building system issues, and ensuring optimal performance and occupant satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the frontline responder for facility service requests, monitoring work orders in the CMMS and prioritising based on urgency.
• Conduct daily rounds to inspect equipment, monitor the Building Automation System for alarms and set‑point deviations, and make operational adjustments to HVAC, lighting and other systems.
• Perform multi‑trade maintenance including HVAC filter changes, belt replacements, minor electrical repairs, lamp and ballast replacements, plumbing faucet and toilet repairs, drain clearing, and basic carpentry such as door hardware adjustments and drywall patching.
• Respond to emergencies, troubleshoot equipment failures, and either resolve issues or coordinate escalation to specialised technicians.
• Communicate status updates to requestors and management throughout the resolution process.

Required profile

• Proven experience in facility or building maintenance covering multiple trades.
• Ability to assess problems quickly, determine appropriate solutions and execute repairs safely.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with occupants and reporting to supervisors.
• Willingness to work on‑site and respond to urgent service calls.

Required skills

• HVAC maintenance (filter changes, belt replacements, system startups/shutdowns).
• Electrical work (lamp/ballast replacement, receptacle repair, basic circuit troubleshooting).
• Plumbing repairs (faucet, toilet/flush valve replacement, drain clearing).
• Carpentry and general building maintenance (door hardware adjustment, drywall patching, painting touch‑ups).
• Grounds and exterior upkeep (walkway maintenance, minor landscaping).
• Building Automation System (BAS) monitoring.
• Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) usage.
