Microfinance Officer

About the role

The Microfinance Officer plays a key role in advancing community economic empowerment by organizing and supporting community‑based financial groups, facilitating inclusive access to microcredit, and strengthening the financial capacity of women, youth and micro‑entrepreneurs.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and strengthen community‑based financial groups such as Savings and Credit Groups, Income Generation Groups and local cooperatives.
• Conduct regular group meetings, monitor savings behaviour and repayment trends to ensure sustainability.
• Perform borrower profiling, credit investigations and assist applicants with documentation, loan agreements and disbursement.
• Collect loan repayments on schedule and follow up on delinquent accounts.
• Prepare and submit monthly collection reports, operational reports and loan repayment summaries.
• Lead or support livelihood, cooperative and micro‑enterprise projects, delivering financial‑literacy and entrepreneurship training.
• Build partnerships with local government units, training institutions and private‑sector actors to promote financial inclusion.
• Coordinate with field managers and community‑development teams and represent the organization in partner engagements.
