Medical Billing Specialist – Payment Posting (Remote)

About the role

The Medical Billing Specialist – Payment Posting ensures timely and accurate payment for medical services provided to clients' patients. The role involves charge entry, collecting payments from insurers, and delivering high‑quality customer service while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Process received payments and create posting batches.
• Identify under‑payments and prepare appeal documentation.
• Code claims using CPT, HCPCS and ICD‑10 codes.
• Submit claims to clearinghouses, review and correct claim errors.
• Communicate with patients, providers and payers to verify eligibility, pre‑certify services, and follow up on claims and appeals.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience in US healthcare billing.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD‑10 coding and claim modifiers.
• Familiarity with Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) and Practice Management Systems (PMS).
• Understanding of various insurance types including health, workers’ compensation and auto.
• Ability to read and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and coordinate with insurers.
