Mechanical Engineer – FreeCAD (Remote Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with strong FreeCAD expertise to create, validate, and maintain high‑quality parametric CAD models. This remote contract role supports AI dataset generation and advanced engineering projects, requiring rigorous attention to geometric accuracy and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Produce, edit, and validate precise parametric CAD models using FreeCAD, ensuring geometric accuracy and adherence to engineering best practices.
• Develop a comprehensive library of mechanical parts, assemblies, and features to support AI dataset creation and model training.
• Apply GD&T principles to guarantee that models reflect real‑world manufacturing tolerances.
• Conduct quality‑assurance reviews, identify discrepancies, and maintain detailed engineering documentation.
• Incorporate feedback and revisions promptly to keep deliverables aligned with evolving project needs.
• Optionally create Python scripts to automate modeling tasks and enhance parametrization.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical design, CAD modeling, or industrial engineering.
• Strong knowledge of parametric modeling techniques and engineering best practices.
• Familiarity with GD&T and common manufacturing processes.
• Ability to produce clear engineering documentation for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
