Marine Engineering Faculty Position

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Marine Engineering Faculty member to join our academic team. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality instruction, develop curricula, and support student learning in marine engineering and related maritime technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and/or vocational courses in marine engineering fundamentals, ship systems, offshore and ocean engineering.
• Design and update curricula, develop assessments, and employ modern pedagogical methods.
• Mentor students, supervise projects, and contribute to research or scholarly activities.
• Ensure compliance with international and local maritime standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Utilise educational technology, learning management systems, and digital tools for instruction and evaluation.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in marine engineering fundamentals, ship systems, offshore and ocean engineering, and maritime technologies.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the tertiary or vocational level, including curriculum design and assessment development.
• Knowledge of international and local maritime standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Effective communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or a related field; a master’s degree or higher and relevant professional licences are preferred.
• Industry experience in shipboard operations, marine engineering practice, or maritime education is highly advantageous.
