Manufacturing & Process Development Engineer

About the role

Join TE’s global Manufacturing Process Development Engineering (MPDE) team to lead end‑to‑end connector manufacturing process development. You will work closely with product design teams in China and the US, as well as local plant teams, to launch new products smoothly into mass production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the complete connector manufacturing process from raw material to final assembly.
• Design and validate assembly concepts, tooling, and process DOE studies.
• Lead technical troubleshooting from low‑volume manufacturing (LVM) to high‑volume manufacturing (HVM), including tooling qualification and issue resolution.
• Provide detailed process definitions to the automation team for automated machine tool development.
• Ensure product launch meets schedule, cost, quality, and delivery KPIs.
• Document processes (DFM, tooling specs, FMEAs, work instructions, FACA/QCPC).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in precision assembly process development or automation.
• Strong hands‑on shop‑floor experience and data‑driven problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to drive cost reduction through design and process optimization.
• Fluent written and spoken English; Chinese language skills are a plus.
• Overseas work experience is advantageous.
