Mainframe Z/OS Administrator Lead

About the role

UST is seeking a seasoned Mainframe Z/OS Administrator Lead to manage and enhance its enterprise z/OS platform. The role combines deep technical expertise with the ability to operate in a hybrid environment that integrates mainframe and cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day support and administration of the z/OS operating system and related subsystems.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot CICS regions, resources, and runtime environments.
• Implement and maintain TLS and enterprise encryption across all z/OS components.
• Support and manage the Integrated Cryptographic Service Facility (ICSF), including key lifecycle operations.
• Monitor system performance, resolve incidents, and ensure high availability.
• Participate in system upgrades, patching, SMP/E processes, and maintenance activities.
• Analyze logs, dumps, and diagnostics to resolve complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with application, security, cloud, and infrastructure teams in a hybrid setting.
• Maintain configuration standards, documentation, and best‑practice procedures.
• Contribute to disaster‑recovery planning, testing, and readiness.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of hands‑on production experience with z/OS systems.
• Strong knowledge of CICS configuration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with TLS, encryption protocols, and secure communications on z/OS.
• Hands‑on experience with ICSF key management and cryptographic services.
• Proven ability to work in fast‑paced, hybrid technology environments and manage multiple priorities.
